Hidden Farm, located in Apalachin, NY, close to town and Route 17 but up high on a hill, close to Heaven, where you will feel like you are deep in the countryside!  Students enjoy small classes on gentle horses.  Our horses are all allowed to preserve their own special personalities which make for a variety of educational experiences for the learning student.  We teach with a "Centered Riding" approach, based on Dressage, which concentrates on the proper centered and balanced form for the rider.  Everything a rider does or is instructed to do is for a specific purpose and everything counts.  We encourage our students to love and respect the horses for who they are.

Don't just be a passenger....
Learn to really ride!

Our boarder horses are treated with the respect, admiration and love that we give our own.  Our full board facility is affordable and friendly and totally "all about your horse"! Farrier service available on site.

Horsemanship Camp June/July 2010

Our first Horsemanship Camp of the season was a great success.  We were blessed with beautiful weather, lucky us!  Campers got a taste of barn maintenance, pasture de-stoning, tack cleaning as well as find out all about what a farrier does with our horses’ feet and why it’s all so important.  Our saddle fitting clinic explained what to look for and why it’s so crucial for the health of the horse to be sure that the saddle really fits correctly.  Our riding included a lesson every day, plus several trail rides which are always so much fun!  After lunch, our craft time included some interesting projects, which were new ideas for everyone, all horse related, of course!  Many of the craft materials were re-used from horse farm sources.  The horse shoes were pre-owned by Hidden Farm horses.  The wood for Pyrograpy came from our renovation of the Boarder’s barn and the rocks that we painted were from the pasture clearing!  So, as a result, we had a “green” lesson in recycling! Please enjoy our Youtube video of camp highlights!

Beginner Horsemanship Camp August 2010

Our Beginner Horsemanship Camp took place in the height of Summer and what a great week it was!  4 of the campers were completely new to horses, the 5th had been taking lessons with us for a while.  Enjoy our photo video!

Skyline Corral Performance Show July 18, 2010

Skyline Corral Performance Show Sept. 12, 2010

Megan, Jessie and and Charlotte had another  wonderful day in Owego for the last Performance show of the season.  Jessie and Charlotte shared Strausberg, Charlotte participating in Walk/Trot classes and Jessie in the Open classes. Our Charlotte took Reserve Champion for the Walk/Trot Division!  Megan rode Scoops in the Western Youth Division and Ghostie in Youth English.  Everyone performed well as did the weather!

We use and endorse Dr. Cook's Bitless Bridles!

Our horses love their Dr. Cook's Bitless Bridles.  They are free from mouth pain (which results in fear), they listen more attentively, breathe more freely, and move more gracefully. With a calm, less spooky horse, communication is enhanced, trust established, performance improved, and harmony achieved. Riding becomes simpler, safer and more satisfying. Both the rider and the horse can relax and enjoy themselves.
Check out the videos on their website....you'll find Hidden Farm students in lesson scenes!
